Tak ayal lagi, karena dinilai keterlaluan, Kusanagi pun ditangkap. Dimasukkan ke mobil berwarna perak, jendela mobil ditutup rapat gordennya, dan dibawa ke kantor polisi.
Di depan pos polisi Harajuku di Tokyo, para wartawan pun merubung. Menurut Polisi Metropolitan Tokyo, Kusanagi belum diperkarakan.
Namun, bertindak tak senonoh di depan publik di Jepang terancam penjara kurungan enam bulan dan denda mencapai 300.000 yen atau senilai Rp 30 juta lebih. Kusanagi sangat populer sejak debutnya sebagi bintang grup pop tahun 1991.
